I could write quite a bit, but I think I'll keep it short even though it's been almost 2 weeks since writing.
Friday week ago I got to have dinner with my sister-in-law and a couple of her colleagues. I felt a little bad for going because Kelly & the kids went to the truck pulls at the Adams County fair. That is what Clayton wanted to go do for his birthday but he was okay with me not going. That was honestly a first for us because she & I haven't really ever gone & done anything just the two of us. (I know there were co-workers present, but they weren't with us the whole time.) I really enjoyed getting the chance to talk & laugh! We ate at a place that I probably wouldn't have ever eaten had I not gone with them and it wasn't half bad. When they served the tacos they were in a taco holder! Literally! When I saw it all I thought was 'man the kids would love the taco holders'. They always say we need holders for our tacos. Anyways, after eating we headed back to their hotel where evidently there was a group of... well I'm not sure what they were, lets say Israelis, having some sort of gathering. I don't think they thought very highly of us as we walking through the middle of the group as they exited their conference room. We received lots of stares to say the least! (Well, I did since I didn't follow right behind some or go around the building with another and was walking ALONE!) We all laughed and then thought we should have taken a picture! HAH! Now that all being said, I hope that we get opportunity to spend time together again & wish we would have more before the move!
Kelly spent last week in Fort Worth for some training therefore it was just the kids & I. It was definitely a rough week in deed. After dropping him off at the air port I progressively got to feeling worse. The kids were so super while I wasn't feeling up to par! They continually asked if I was okay or if I needed anything. We didn't do much of anything the whole week. (well, actually we did a lot, we just didn't leave the house much) Abby did have a doctors appointment on Wednesday for her stomach and they did an x-ray of her abdomen. We haven't heard back yet, but I go tomorrow to the same doctor so I will be asking. Hopefully I can get this sinus/cold/cough/whatever it is cleared up! So, staying home most of the week did allow me to tune into some webinars and do lessons for the kids schooling. Abby received her books & materials on Friday & I think is getting excited! She & Clayton both had to complete 2 assessment test as well as a lesson/tutorial on how on-line school will work. They officially start classes on the 20th!
Friday marked Kelly's return from training! His flight got in about 8:20 pm which wasn't a big deal except that he finished his class up before lunch and had to sit in DFW until his flight because they didn't have an earlier flight he could change to. :( Hated that for him because I know it was horribly boring! Yesterday was his birthday and we went to the Lone Star Steak House for lunch then later had blizzards! It was all yummy, but I certainly am glad we don't do that on a regular basis because I think we all ate too much!
Tuesday my mother in law & a friend of hers are flying in for a week. Looking forward to next Friday because we are heading to Wyoming! It's so lovely & peaceful up in the Big Horn Mountains at Kelly's Aunt & Uncles place. I could definitely get use to being up there, but know we must return. However, things here are too shabby! Weather in the morning & the evening is perfect for sitting on the porch/deck and just breathing in the fresh air. (Any of our friends are welcomed to come experience it with us anytime!)
Okay, so a little longer than I had anticipated, but hey! This week will surely be great! Will most likely blog sooner this week since we I do feel much better!

Already August
Wow! It's already August and time has definitely flown. Twelve years ago today my handsome young man was born! He's growing into such a great young man and makes me proud! (and angry at times) :) We don't have a big to do planned but are going to try and go to some truck pulls tomorrow night. Hopefully Abby & I will be feeling better!
We spent 9 days back in Texas last week and were ready to get home to see Kelly! I didn't get to see everyone I would have liked, but stayed pretty busy none the less. Abigail played in a softball tournament the Saturday after we got there. It was way too hot to be playing softball, but the girls were troopers. Abby got a little too hot one time while catching, but bounced back. She did a heck of a job as well as the rest of the team. They didn't win, but hopefully they had fun! Clayton and Abby got to go to Turner Falls in Oklahoma with Grandma, Papa, Whitney, Baylee, Hadley, Ryan, & Kyndal. It looked and sounded as thought they really had lots of fun.
Saturday before heading home I had the privilege to be a part of a very sweet young couples wedding. Jessica & Sam Powers! I have done Jessica & her moms hair for a couple years and was excited to get to do Jess's hair for her special day! It was an absolutely beautiful wedding and reception!
This first week back from Texas has been a lazy one for sure! With Abby feeling bad most the week and now me, I haven't gotten much done! I hate it and need to get on the ball! BUT, Kelly is going to have to go to some training next week, so I guess I can get caught up then. Which is a actually a must since Val & Jo will be here week after next! Then we get to head to the mountains! YAY!
Alright, a little more 'serious' so to speak. I have learned a great deal with in the last couple of weeks. I know by far that no one is perfect, especially not me, but some people just amaze me. Not sure why anymore, but it's true, they do.
Some people just seem so terribly unhappy. They tell you one thing but body language and actions are SO much louder. In turn their actions, emotions, etc make the others they are around feel as if they are the problem. While in actuality that's not even the case, but still leave others feeling just a miserable. Then there are the ones that claim to be so "close" to you but really the only time they are "close" is when it looks good. If no one is looking they completely are oblivious to you. I'll say that hurts for than people would know! BUT, then there are those true blue friends that no matter what they will be there! They try to understand, listen, and go beyond because they care; just as would be done for them! In my years I have been truly blessed with quite a few of the latter types and am so grateful! Those not so happy friends don't seem to stay and I am equally proud to say I haven't had a whole lot of those!
It's said that your lucky to have 1 or 2 close friends in a lifetime! Well, I must be extremely lucky then because I have more than that and would do just about anything for them! (Hopefully they know whom they are) No matter the years, miles, or problems in the past REAL Friends are no matter what "REAL"! So, THANK YOU to you guys! I miss them terribly but hope that I can make some more friends here that are half the friends they are. (No one will ever replace a friend in my life! My list will just expand!)
And, something else, which made me smile inside & out! Family has/is important and through my life there have been some family members I've not seen, or even known, in years. Which wasn't necessarily by choice, but with the help of technology, the world wide web, and Facebook I have been able to find some of them. And even old friend of my parents that were like family! How fabulous is that!
This leads me to this... I found someone on face book, whom I was pretty sure was my cousin on my dad's side, and sent a private message on April 30. After a week or two I was discouraged and decided 'oh well, at least I tried'. Well, I had also sent him a friend request as well as his mom and nothing. I then figured out one of his friends was his sister! YAY! So I sent her a request! And... She accepted! WOOHOO!
It's just been in the last 3 years or so that I've gotten to meet more of my dad's side of my family and it is nice because I've never known a lot about them or met many of them. It was crazy how it began because a cousin to my dad (whom was younger, but remembers lots about him) just so happened to go to church with my uncle (one of my mom's brothers, the one whom I went to live with after she pasted). That shows what a very small world we live in! She recognized the name and asked if he'd had a sister whom married my dad. (obviously names were used) Anyways, that got us in touch and then also got me in with the rest of the family. I mean lots of extended family! Cousins, cousins, and more cousins of my dads. His immediate family wasn't that large and I never knew the rest, so it was exciting when the kids and I got to attend the Batey Family Reunion last year! Hated that we couldn't go this year, but it just wasn't going to work.
So, like I had said earlier, we were in Texas for a while and when we got home I was checking face book and guess what! I had a reply from my cousin! He's a bit older than me and it's been a very long time since I've seen him, but I remember him and have thought about all of them often! It was very exciting to get back in touch and hopefully we can talk/e-mail more! I'd love to see all of them and have them meet my kids!
Life is amazing and the lord works wonderously!

A formal resident
Well I got my drivers license changed today so I guess I'm an official resident. I went to the DMV that Kelly said I should go to, and WOW! I'll have to say it was a tad scary! Was going to go ahead and get my plates/registration, but the line was HORRIBLE, so decided I'd go later this week.
After leaving the DMV we decided to go to the Cherry Creek Mall. It seems like a really nice mall, but we didn't check it out much because we were going one place and no others. We went to Build-A-Bear Workshop and got new bears! I even made myself one and named her 'Simply'. She is going to be my Simply Said mascot and help me with some parties! ;) Clayton got a camo bear and named him 'Rocky' and decked him out in a Rockies Uniform. Abby's monkey is named Selina and she was styling in white bling shorts and sparkly tank! I'd say all our animals looked awesome!
We also joined the Brighton Recreation Center today! Hopefully this will give us even more opportunities to meet people and make friends. It's somewhat like a YMCA. I can go to fitness classes, do cardio equipment, or something else, and the kids can swim in the indoor pool. It even has 1 or 2 slides! Clayton says we are going to play racquet ball. Hmmm... I'm not sure about that, but we shall see.
In my efforts to introduce Simply Said to my neighbors, I have met some pretty nice people. Last week a family moved in to the house sort of behind us and to the left. The lady seems pretty nice and her daughter is 9 (yay). So, she and Abby have been playing! I'm so glad she has found someone to interact with, and I'm sure I won't forget her name anytime soon... it's Kenzie. Hahaha! Hope everyones week is going fabulously!

Life's Been Busy
It's been a while and I apologize! Things have been busy! YAY! Let's see, where do I start...
How about with my Simply Said convention?! It was June 28-30 in Minneapolis, MN. Last year we made it a family vacation, but this year I attended alone. I flew by myself, which is something I've NEVER done before, and it actually wasn't bad at all. I had such a great time with the WOW team and my room mates Jodie and Cristina. We left our mark in our hotel room. (picture to the left... a cute little girl, it's removable & won't hurt anything) The convention itself was amazing! It's such fun seeing consultants from across the country, learning from everyone, meeting (getting to see again) the Leuthold family and Simply Said staff, and the fabulous new things they have to offer! I came back excited and ready to get my business going. Which, I have taken the first step with blind faith! I joined a local networking group which meets once a month and went door to door inviting people to an open house party I'm holding this week. Saying a little prayer it works and I can build the area!
When I returned on Sunday, July 1st, I was greeted by Kelly and Clayton. It was great to see my handsome son. My mother-in-law (Val), sister-in-law (Holli), Baylee, and Kaden came to visit and brought Clayton back with them. They actually arrived on Friday evening and then they all spent the Saturday in the mountains. The week ended up being very adventurous. Sunday we attended a Rockies baseball game, they lost, but it was really fun! Monday we all went to Ikea and did a little shopping! There were way more things I would have liked to buy, but refrained. Did get plenty of ideas! Tuesday morning Val took my car and headed to Wyoming to her sisters for a few days. The girls had some girl time and then we all went bowling late that afternoon. Needless to say I lost, and lost BIG time! I'm just not a good bowler. Wednesday the 4th, we all loaded up and headed to Wellington to Heather's, which is Kelly's cousin, for a block party. On the way we made a stop at the outlet store in Loveland. I think that we all LOVE the Under Armour outlet. Can't beat getting short or shirts for like $10. The block party was a lot of fun! The kids swam a lot and the adults socialized! Thursday we loaded up and headed back to the mountains to Estes Park and to the Alpine in Rocky Mountain National Park. At Estes Park we rode the tram way up the mountain and the kids fed ground squirrels. It was really neat how they'd come right up and eat out of your hands. On the way home we went to Old Chicago Pizza and ate! I think it's the best pizza ever! YUMM... We did have left overs, but while waiting outside the restaurant for everyone to come out, there was a homeless guy and Clayton and Kaden gave it to him. When we pulled up at the house there was a police officer sitting in front. Seriously! Well guess what?! One of the neighbors called them because the dogs were barking. And, stated that it was an on-going problem. Really, because if that was the case I would think that they should have tried to talk to us first. We aren't sure which ones it is, but have an idea. Ah well. Friday we decided was amusement park day! Elitch Gardens! We didn't leave just when we had planned because I found two older apple laptops on Craigslist to buy the kids. So, on the way we went by and bought them. They are older, but will work great for them. Elitch Gardens is neat and I like that the rides are not all spread out. There is even a water park that is actually part of the park. We didn't get a chance to play on the water park side but we did get wet! A storm blew in and it poured on us. We had a good time while we could and made the best of the rest of the day! Saturday morning they got up early and headed back to Henrietta. :( We had such a great time!
The kids and I will be heading back to Texas the 20th - 29th. Abby will be playing in a softball tournament in Henrietta and I will be doing hair for a very sweet girls' wedding on the 28th. It'll be great and fun to see everyone!

Already a Month
It's already been a month that Kelly & I have been here. Doesn't seem like it. Haven't updated in a bit.
Last week was pretty good. On Wednesday I took Abby to Brighton Oasis, which is like a city pool but it has a couple of slides & a small lazy river. The cost getting in was pretty cheap too. We were there a couple hours & it was extremely crowded. I got a tad sun burned on my back, but other than that it was good. We took two of the dogs (left Pepper) walking one night and surprisingly Rex did better than expected. Also, we have been going on bike rides around the neighborhood regularly. It's not a long distance, but enjoyable. Thursday night (which is Kelly's Friday because he's off Friday & Saturday) he and Abby played washers in the garage and the neighbor came over and asked them to quiet down. HaHah... They were having their own little party together. They put the washers up and then Abby wanted to learn how to Dance. I'll say that was the sweetest thing ever, Kelly teaching Abby how to dance. It was a great daddy/daughter evening.
The weekend was nice. Kelly found a Jeep on Craigslist that he wanted and was in exceptionally good shape. (I'll try to post a picture later) So, we bought it! It's not perfect by any means, but it's already got a lift, new tires, runs good, & the interior is actually really clean considering how old it is. So, now we can go find something to crawl. (Per Kelly & Clayton) For Father's Day we got Kelly an electric edger. He said the dirt was different here & just eating up his weed-eater string. He wasn't actually here on Father's Day because he had to work, so we went to eat Monday night.
My Simply Said Convention is coming up and I'm getting more excited! I leave next Thursday and fly to Minneapolis. Never flown alone before, so that makes me a little nervous, but still excited. I'm really ready to get going with my business here! I've made a couple little things for our team that will be attending. (Wish my girls were getting to go. But, I understand.)
Here's one that I've done! It's tic tac's! Still working on a little saying to go on the inside, but it's so cute! Going to finish them up this week, then making "train key" necklaces! Can't wait! I've been needing to be crafty!
Oh yeah, we met some more neighbors. The girl next door to the right of us, her name is JaNina (okay, so I'm not exactly sure if that's how it's spelled, or if that is what her name was). Anyway, she's really nice & we also met her parents whom were also nice. She isn't married & doesn't have any kids. Then Friday night the guy across the street who we met before came over for a little while and talked. He isn't married either. His sister & brother-in-law have been staying with him (she's the one that complained about Kelly & Abby being loud). He has a dog that is his child. Kelly met the people that share part of our back yard. They live to the left, but the back of their yard meets our side yard. I'm not sure of their names, but they are about our age, maybe a little older. She gave the dogs a treat, now they have a friend! :)
The temperatures here have actually been high 90's and even 100. BUT, 100 here is not the same as a 100 in Texas that's for sure.
Can't wait to have visitors real soon!!! <3

So, Monday Abby & I decided to go for a bike ride to the convenient store. Well, her new bike had a flat tire from a thorn (actually a rather large sticker) so she had to ride her old bike. The store is about 2.5 miles I think. Not too bad because we've been riding at least 2 miles when we go riding and I figured we'd have a break while there. Well on the way back she was getting really tired and wanted to 'walk' her bike. Then I noticed her back tire was going flat, no wonder she was having a hard time. It's hard to ride a bike with a low/flat tire. And, it was pretty warm out. So, she starts walking her bike. Then low and behold guess who got a flat tire? Yep, ME! So, we both had to walk our bikes back to the house. Which ended up being a mile or so. We were both wore out by the time we got to the house. I had several of those thorn things in my front tire & then also in the back. UGH! Needless to say I don't think we'll be doing that again. Oh, and not just because of the flat tires. I say 6 (I think) snake skins on the side of the road on the way home. One was actually a dead snake, and where there are dead snakes and snake skins means there could be snakes. After I saw them my heart was racing even more! Anyone that knows me knows I DO NOT DO SNAKES! I asked Abby what she would have done had I seen a live one and passed out and guess what she said.... 'I'd run home and call daddy'. REALLY? I asked why she would just use my phone because it was right there, and she forgot. Then I was like, 'why would you call daddy and not 911?'. Her reply, 'well, daddy would get there fast'. Love her! After I explained that if she called 911 that they would come quicker she said 'I wouldn't have know how to tell them where we were'. Oh, and got to face-time with Clayton, Grandma, & Papa tonight. And, Abby too (not my Abby) Glad she got an iPhone! Will definitely have do more frequently! :)
Last week was pretty good. On Wednesday I took Abby to Brighton Oasis, which is like a city pool but it has a couple of slides & a small lazy river. The cost getting in was pretty cheap too. We were there a couple hours & it was extremely crowded. I got a tad sun burned on my back, but other than that it was good. We took two of the dogs (left Pepper) walking one night and surprisingly Rex did better than expected. Also, we have been going on bike rides around the neighborhood regularly. It's not a long distance, but enjoyable. Thursday night (which is Kelly's Friday because he's off Friday & Saturday) he and Abby played washers in the garage and the neighbor came over and asked them to quiet down. HaHah... They were having their own little party together. They put the washers up and then Abby wanted to learn how to Dance. I'll say that was the sweetest thing ever, Kelly teaching Abby how to dance. It was a great daddy/daughter evening.
The weekend was nice. Kelly found a Jeep on Craigslist that he wanted and was in exceptionally good shape. (I'll try to post a picture later) So, we bought it! It's not perfect by any means, but it's already got a lift, new tires, runs good, & the interior is actually really clean considering how old it is. So, now we can go find something to crawl. (Per Kelly & Clayton) For Father's Day we got Kelly an electric edger. He said the dirt was different here & just eating up his weed-eater string. He wasn't actually here on Father's Day because he had to work, so we went to eat Monday night.
My Simply Said Convention is coming up and I'm getting more excited! I leave next Thursday and fly to Minneapolis. Never flown alone before, so that makes me a little nervous, but still excited. I'm really ready to get going with my business here! I've made a couple little things for our team that will be attending. (Wish my girls were getting to go. But, I understand.)
Oh yeah, we met some more neighbors. The girl next door to the right of us, her name is JaNina (okay, so I'm not exactly sure if that's how it's spelled, or if that is what her name was). Anyway, she's really nice & we also met her parents whom were also nice. She isn't married & doesn't have any kids. Then Friday night the guy across the street who we met before came over for a little while and talked. He isn't married either. His sister & brother-in-law have been staying with him (she's the one that complained about Kelly & Abby being loud). He has a dog that is his child. Kelly met the people that share part of our back yard. They live to the left, but the back of their yard meets our side yard. I'm not sure of their names, but they are about our age, maybe a little older. She gave the dogs a treat, now they have a friend! :)
The temperatures here have actually been high 90's and even 100. BUT, 100 here is not the same as a 100 in Texas that's for sure.
Can't wait to have visitors real soon!!! <3

So, Monday Abby & I decided to go for a bike ride to the convenient store. Well, her new bike had a flat tire from a thorn (actually a rather large sticker) so she had to ride her old bike. The store is about 2.5 miles I think. Not too bad because we've been riding at least 2 miles when we go riding and I figured we'd have a break while there. Well on the way back she was getting really tired and wanted to 'walk' her bike. Then I noticed her back tire was going flat, no wonder she was having a hard time. It's hard to ride a bike with a low/flat tire. And, it was pretty warm out. So, she starts walking her bike. Then low and behold guess who got a flat tire? Yep, ME! So, we both had to walk our bikes back to the house. Which ended up being a mile or so. We were both wore out by the time we got to the house. I had several of those thorn things in my front tire & then also in the back. UGH! Needless to say I don't think we'll be doing that again. Oh, and not just because of the flat tires. I say 6 (I think) snake skins on the side of the road on the way home. One was actually a dead snake, and where there are dead snakes and snake skins means there could be snakes. After I saw them my heart was racing even more! Anyone that knows me knows I DO NOT DO SNAKES! I asked Abby what she would have done had I seen a live one and passed out and guess what she said.... 'I'd run home and call daddy'. REALLY? I asked why she would just use my phone because it was right there, and she forgot. Then I was like, 'why would you call daddy and not 911?'. Her reply, 'well, daddy would get there fast'. Love her! After I explained that if she called 911 that they would come quicker she said 'I wouldn't have know how to tell them where we were'. My daughter's Heart
I just want to give an insight to what a big sweet heart Abigail has. With moving I'm not putting all my pictures up & have tried to organize things a little better. I have a couple envelopes that have miscellaneous old pictures that were for some reason were with the stuff from the entertainment center. I had left them laying out to put them where they belong and decide to look through them a couple nights ago. (which I love to look through pictures, especially the old ones, and do it often) Anyways, Abby & I were sitting in the middle of the floor looking at them and she of course would ask who the people in the pictures were. Some I didn't know for sure, but mostly were of my mother, aunts, uncles, & grandparents. Mostly were from much younger day. There were some of my uncles (Jerry, Jimmy, Benny, & John) and when she looked at them she said 'that looks like Jessie, and that looks like Parker'. Which she is right! There are some of my mom at various ages, from elementary to well after her school years. Abby was enjoying looking at all the pictures and said 'I wish I could have known your mom'. It was hard not to cry, but I told her I did too! She thought is was so neat that I look so much like my mom. (which actually she looks more like her) There was one picture when she was about Abby's age & it was crazy looking at it & looking at Abby. Then she asked more questions like 'how old I was', 'how old was she', etc. When she realized I was the same age she is now, she got quite. He sweet little face looked so sad all of a sudden. I had a couple pictures, that were some of the last taken, of me & my mom and Abby wanted to hang on to them. Of course I let her! I put the pictures back in their envelopes and we were sitting/laying in the floor watching TV and she got up to go to restroom. She had been crying. :( I tried asking her what was wrong, and she just shook her head and said 'nothing'. I didn't push her, but my heart swelled!
I had a friend once tell me that Abby was an old soul. And ya know, she really is! (that isn't meant in a bad way by any means) Both my kids at times remind me so much of both my parents. They both have huge, soft hearts and I am very blessed to have such great kids!
On another note, Abby had been insisting that we needed to get the Brazil Butt Lift. Well, I found it on eBay and ordered it. Tonight was the first night to actually do it, and DANG it'll work ya that's for sure! I wonder if it's as fun as what she thought?!?
